Add a copy to your collection. It's a mess, and shouldn't have been released in this state. I am impressed with how well the Fallout setting feels tied to this different ruleset and I'm loving it so far. The rest of this post will not be complimentary, but I wanted to be clear that it does not reflect on the quality of the product itself: Not only does the game call for special "damage dice" but the dice aren't available anywhere.
You cannot even pre-order them from the Modiphius website, and the only way to get them there was in a special deal with the core book that's sold out. Before anyone jumps in, I know that you can just use standard dice with a table located inside the book.
But that adds an extra step that isn't necessary, and the "funny dice cash grab" is getting old. If you're going to push them all over your book, then they should be available when you release the book.
Yes, even the digital version. The dice are hard to get as they've not been released in the US thanks to massive sea freight delays, and equally bad delays in US logistics with huge delays at ports and rail hubs, however they're due to arrive at the warehouse in the US in about a week and another big re-stock is due in October to back it up - so we expect US stores to have the dice by the end of this month.
In Europe sales were so huge we sold out, but again have another big re-stock arriving first week of October again with delays this should have been here by now. Yes, there are tables for both the dice and the hit location die in the book. I also specifically covered this perspective this in my last paragraph. The dice are pushed throughout the book. They are part of the design and cost at minimum 20 dollars us. This is not a minor thing to have them be unavailable.
I feel very strongly that as neat as they look and as handy as they are for determining a value between 0 and 2 with special effects , the primary goal is to sell accessories to fill a need created by the core rules. Thank you for the reply on the delays. I will keep looking for the dice. I am enjoying the book and the core rules so far. I will also be waiting for errata to be incorporated before purchasing this book.
I want to run a game, not edit one I think I'll give it a buy when all the errata has been incorporated. Wow - this is not a Tablet friendly product. I have had tons of issues just trying to get it to open. Will there be a version that is not megs? Checked with the production team, it's down to the enormous amount of art in the book, we tried a low res version but got complaints the art was too low res so this is a compromise.
Is there any way to lower the res of the text or put the art onto different layers on the pdf? It is all but useless on my tablet. I guess it won't get played, if I can't even use the book. We are scheduling to get an updated pdf to see if they can improve the compression.
I hope this can happen. I do like what I have read so far. My group is excited to try out the game. The only thing that seems odd to me is that 3rd gen synths can't heal on their own or use stim packs when the video game and lore says that they should be able to. Is this as good a system as the free ttrpg system for Fallout: Equestria?
Is there any chance we're going to get an edited, errata'd version? The errors and typos are rife through this book, some causing game-play issues I'm looking at you Powered Armor Table. After discovering an issue with my email, the Publisher has already answered this for me. I'd actually like to know what they said if you don't mind; there have been several comments like this that have put me off buying the book until it gets updated.
They said that, since the game hasn't actually gone into full-release it's still being worked on. Once it goes into full release it will get real support. Unfortunately, they did not give me that information. Here's hoping they're keeping an eye on this product. Maybe we can get them to answer. So, in short, "Give us your money now, and we promise we'll fix it later. But, there are some glaring oversights in the book: Missing equipment descriptions Missing table entries Clumsy rule descriptions Swapped table columns Typo'd enemy statistics The book is full of errors.
As I said in my review, none of these are an issue to experienced GMs, but if you don't have a lot of experience and other games to steal ideas from, it's going to be rough. Fallout has gone through multiple playtesting periods where they've solicited player feedback, and there was an additional delay before they shipped out the printed copy of the book.
What point do they consider the game to be in full release?
